This expansive orangery is a welcome addition to a beautiful countryside property. Offering unrestricted views of the surrounding nature, this sunroom incorporates a number of structural elements that add interest and purpose to the new sitting room.
To create their ideal glazed addition, our client’s number one priority was making the most of the scenic views surrounding their home whilst also introducing an access point to a new outdoor seating area.
Designed to include an impressive floor to ceiling bay window looking out to the fields and a bifold door system opening up the structure to the patio area, our designer helped these clients create an orangery that ticked all their boxes without sacrificing those awe-inspiring views.
Our client’s main wish was for a glazed structure that was comfortable for year-round use, being both warm enough during long winter nights and having ample airflow for sunny summer days.
The incorporation of a solid gable wall to the end elevation allowed for the inclusion of a chimney breast and flue, granting the homeowners a crackling open fire that will help warm the whole of the home through the double doors that connect it.
As the east and west elevations incorporated full height panels and doors, designing in sliding sash windows to either side of the fireplace provided a variety of ventilation options for the room.
This glazed addition has helped to create a home that is more in tune with its outdoor space, with the positioning of the structure creating a secluded patio area that’s sheltered from the wind.
