Project Spotlight: Raby Castle
Our recent conservatory installation at Raby Castle sits within the 18th-century walled gardens and forms an integral part of the estate’s ongoing restoration programme. The glazed structure provides spectacular views across the landscape, and currently accommodates the walled garden exhibition.
The design is based on a detailed study of the deteriorated 19th-century conservatory previously located on the same footprint. Key Victorian-era characteristics were reintroduced, including the breakfront gable and distinctive glazing patterns. This is a perfect example of how we incorporate decorative joinery into projects.
This is the second project we have completed at Raby Castle, and follows the successful replacement of the vine house on the edge of the walled garden.
