There are a large number of beautiful buildings in existence that require a different approach when designing a glazed extension. The combination of architectural bronze within timber provides just that.
We are uniquely placed to incorporate these elements into our traditional timber structures working in conjunction with our sister company Architectural Bronze.
Architectural Bronze are recognised leaders in the design and production of handmade bronze windows, doors, screens and secondary glazing. Manufactured exclusively from genuine architectural bronze, the inclusion of these elements ensures that any structure adorned with bronze will have a stand-out ‘wow factor’ of uniqueness beyond compare whether the project leans toward classical or contemporary design.
Project Spotlight: Enhancing a Magnificent Victorian Hall with Architectural Bronze
Located on the south elevation of an 1860s Victorian Hall, this project involved the design of a new, spacious garden room constructed upon an existing low wall. Our structure echoes both the footprint and stature of an original Victorian conservatory that had fallen beyond repair.
Bronze windows and doors were carefully integrated into the conservatory structure, which also featured a deep clerestory to elevate the internal volume, alongside an entablature, feature columns, and a striking front bay detail that also featured a contrasting lead roof. The gable’s apex is crowned with a tall and grand finial, reinforcing the building’s architectural presence.
The combination of bronze within timber proved particularly complementary for this property, which already featured existing metal fenestration, creating harmony between old and new.
Want to see Bronze?
Bronze has been used in architecture for centuries, and is a striking, living material with a beautiful natural patina that develops over time.
Bronze can be extruded to form fine and delicate profiles and is anti-corrosive so does not need galvanising or powdercoating like steel.
To truly appreciate our Architectural Bronze offering, a visit to one of our show locations is essential. We currently have two key venues available to facilitate this: our stand at the Building Centre in London, or our extensive showrooms and workshops here in Lincolnshire.
Alternatively, you are also able to request bronze samples which is the most convenient way to begin to understand and appreciate the uniqueness of the material and how dramatically it differs from metals such as steel or aluminium.
