The decorative detail in our glazing is created with fine and delicate 26mm joinery housing individual double-glazed units which are produced in our in-house glass department. This traditional form of glazing, referred to as ‘true divided lights’, ensures the correct proportions, depth and shadow lines. Although labour intensive to produce, we stay true to the traditional methods rather than turning to applied or simulated divided lights.
This design approach allows our glazing to accurately reflect architectural styles from across different periods, enabling each of our structures to sit in keeping alongside their host building.
As part of a total house renovation, the Georgian style orangery sits at the centre of this magnificent symmetrical facade. It provides a generously proportioned, practical space for entertaining, leading directly off the kitchen area.
The orangery measures 3.8 metres to the eaves, proportional for a property of this scale. Dentil detailing to the entablature and fanlights above the doors reflect the architectural style of the house and integrate the new structure with the existing building.
Beneath the orangery and terrace is a pool room and leisure facility where we also supplied all doors and windows, ensuring consistency across the project.
All doors, windows and clerestory fanlights are manufactured with true divided lights.
Planning assistance
At Vale, we approach the planning process as a collaborative exercise and offer practical support to architects and their clients within the context of the structures we specialise in. Our dedicated in-house planning department has over 30 years’ experience securing planning permission and listed building consent for a wide range of projects.
Where helpful, we can assist with early planning strategy, heritage and precedent considerations, and the coordination of supporting planning documentation. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively and our aim is to complement your own planning considerations and support wherever we can to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.
